Alternatives to dnskl:
Those who require filtering for more than one computer, such as government or
commercial entities, should consider other options. Fortunately,
there are several low-cost (even free) alternatives for large-scale filtering needs.
For example, David Glosser's
BlackHole DNS for Spyware white-paper, which is available on
www.malwaredomains.com, describes how to use
DNS redirection with BIND - an open source (free) DNS server. MalwareDomains.com
also provides BlackHole DNS block lists for both the Microsoft and BIND name
server programs.
Another excellent name server, Treewalk, can use the Confetch plugin for DNS redirection filtering. TreeWalk DNS is also compatible with the BIND filtering instructions on Glosser's paper and includes a graphical interface for those using the Window's environment.
